Protective Coverings

Pipe organs contain many delicate and sensitive parts, and so it is important that when work is undertaken – e.g. a church re-ordering – that the organ is adequately and carefully protected.

Our covering service takes place over two visits: An initial visit to wrap the organ (and console) fully in plastic sheeting, and a further visit to unwrap the organ and re-tune. We can leave the organ playable if required.

As the covering is often going over vulnerable parts of the organ the covering and uncovering of an organ should always be carried out by professional organ builders.

We are happy to advise if a covering is necessary and the best way to go about it.
